Wildflowers & Butterflies of the Refuge

The various habitats of the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge support a large variety of plants, both native and exotic. Join refuge volunteer, Jim Stahl, for a slide presentation on some of the common refuge plants and butterflies. A short hike to observe the natural beauty first hand will follow the presentation. Be sure to bring water and insect/sun protection.

The program is scheduled at the visitor center on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at 9 a.m. Please contact ranger Nancy Corona at 321-861-0668 or by email at Nancy_Corona@fws.gov to make reservations and for additional information. The Visitor Center is located on SR 402, 5 miles east of U.S. 1 in Titusville.
