MINWR Waterfowl Hunt Expo and Workshop -Public Invited to Attend

Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge is hosting a Waterfowl Workshop and Expo on Saturday, September 12 partnering with United Waterfowlers of Florida. The event is scheduled for Saturday, September 12 from 10 am to 2 pm at the Refuge's Sendler Education Pavilion. Keynote speakers from the Refuge staff will discuss the history of duck hunting on the Refuge as well as the present and future of the waterfowl management program.

Presentations on hunter safety and hunting regulations are scheduled prior to breaking for lunch at 12 pm. A free lunch will be provided by United Waterfowlers of Florida. During lunch several hunting organizations, Delta waterfowl, Ducks Unlimited, United Waterfowlers of Florida will be available to answer questions and participants can view duck boats, duck call and decoy collections.

Afternoon topics will include cover blinds, decoy placement, shotguns and range. A retriever demonstration will be the final event of the day. Please call 321-861-5601 for information and reservations.

The Sendler Education Outpost is located on State Road 3, four miles north of the intersection of State Road 406 and State Road 3. The Visitor Center is located on SR 402, 5 miles east of U.S. 1 in Titusville.
