Shorebird Driving Tour

Sandpipers and plovers, collectively known as shorebirds, are some of the most challenging birds to identify. However, learning the subtle clues to identify between the similar species is quite rewarding. Join long-time birder and Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge Volunteer, Al Brayton, for an entertaining and educational workshop. You too can learn how to tell the difference between a lesser and greater yellowlegs!

The program is scheduled for Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at 8:30 am. Space is limited so please contact Ranger Nancy Corona at 321-861-0668 or by email at Nancy_Corona@fws.gov to make reservations. Please meet at the Refuge Visitor Center which is located on SR 402, 5 miles east of U.S. 1 in Titusville. Call 321-861-0668 for more information.
