Scrub Ridge Trail Hike: An Endangered Habitat - Public & Members Welcome

Join Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge Volunteer for an easy 1 mile loop guided tour of Scrub Ridge Trail. Learn about the plants and animals that survive in this endangered and unique habitat. Observe the threatened Florida Scrub Jay, gopher tortoise, migrant birds and other wildlife inhabitants and learn about some of the scrubland plants and wildflowers.

The program is scheduled for Saturday, January 2 at 1 pm. Call 321-861-5601 to make reservations. Loaner binoculars will be available. Bring water, sunscreen and insect repellant. The Visitor Center is located on State Road 402, 5 miles east of U.S. 1 in Titusville.
