Nature Driving Tour—Saturday, September 4 at 9 am Take a guided tour in the Refuge van to learn about the plants and animals of the Refuge. Call 321-861-5601 for reservations.

Shore Bird Presentation & Tour—Saturday, Sept. 11 at 9 am Join naturalist Al Brayton for photo presentation on shore birds (sandpipers & plovers) followed by a driving tour to learn to identify these difficult species in the field. Bring water, snack and insect repellant. Call 321-861-5601.

International Coastal Clean Up -Saturday, Sept.18, 8 am-12 pm Merritt Island NWR, with sponsor Keep Brevard Beautiful, is hosting a clean up at Haul Over Canal. Participants will pick up trash & survey and collect important data on the types of debris. After the clean up, The Merritt Island Wildlife Association will serve hot dogs and soda to participants. Bags, latex gloves and bottled water will be provided. Long pants, closed shoes, sunscreen and insect spray are recommended. Call 321-861-5601 for reservations.

Beginning Bird Watching Driving Tour -Saturday, Sept. 25 at 9 am Join a volunteer for a driving tour in the Refuge van to learn how to identify birds. Call 321-861-5601 reservations National Public Lands Day -September 25 at 9 am. Celebrate your National Public Lands by helping trim, clear and clean up the Refuge hiking trails & public areas. All About Manatees -Saturday, September 25 at 1 pm Learn all about manatees with Refuge Volunteers during a photo presentation and hands on manatee artifacts and a field trip to the Manatee Observation Deck. Refuge. 321-861-5601 reservations.
