Operation Migration is coming to the 11th Annual Space Coast Birding & Wildlife Festival

Flying With Birds – Saving a Species

Come and hear the incredible story of how Whooping cranes, the world’s most endangered crane, are being taught to migrate following ultralight aircraft. Operation Migration plays the leading role in the project, which is reintroducing Whooping cranes to Eastern North America. Described as, “The wildlife equivalent of putting a man on the moon,” you will be enthralled and awed as you learn how this ambitious project is safeguarding Whooping cranes from extinction.

See one of Operation Migration’s working ultralight aircraft, and learn the inside workings of this amazing project from Joe Duff, someone who knows what it is like to fly with birds! Mr. Duff, co-founder and CEO of Operation Migration, is also its senior pilot, and has accumulated more hours in flight alongside more species of birds than any other human.

Presentations will be: Friday, 1/25 from 1 - 2pm in the Auditorium
