November 2011 Events--Members & Public Welcome

Beginning Bird Tours-Tuesdays,Thursdays,Saturdays & Sundays at 9 am- Except 11/24 Join a refuge volunteer for a guided three hour driving tour in the refuge shuttle bus to learn how to identify the many species of birds that inhabit the refuge. Binoculars and field guides available for loan. A fee of $3.00 per person, children under age 16 & MIWA Members are free. Cash or check accepted. Call 321-861-5601 for reservations.

Hawk Identification Presentation & Tour Sunday, November 20,1 pm View a photo presentation to get tips on identifying hawks in the field, followed by a driving tour to view refuge raptors. Please call 321-861-5601 to make reservations.

Butterfly Survey Sunday, November 27 at 8:30 am Volunteers and refuge staff will participate in a survey to identify butterflies in several habitats for the Butterfly Monitoring Network and the North American Butterfly Count. No experience necessary. Bring water, snack and insect repellant. Call 321-861-5601 for information and to make reservations.
