Nature Through The Lens Exhibit, Reception & Workshop

Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge is proud to present a three man nature photography exhibit that depicts the natural landscapes and wildlife of Brevard County. Nature photographers, Thomas Dunkerton, Joel Reynolds and Bob Paty will exhibit their photographs at the Merritt Island NWR Visitor Center through July 2008. The opening reception is scheduled for Saturday, May 24, from 1 pm to 2 pm. Come meet the photographers and enjoy refreshments. Exhibit viewing is during the regular Visitor Center operating hours.

How I Improved My Nature Photography

Directly after the reception at 2 pm, Joel Reynolds will be presenting a workshop "How I Improved My Nature Photography." Joel will share how he became interested in nature photography and improved his images. He will discuss balancing shutter speed, aperture, selection of lenses, frequent changes in ISO. In addition, he will discuss processing his RAW images through Breeze Browser and editing in Photoshop CS2. Afterward, Joel will answer questions during a walk along the Visitor Center Boardwalk. The Visitor Center is located on SR 402, 5 miles east of U.S. 1 in Titusville. The Refuge Visitor Center is open on the weekdays from 8 am to 4:30 pm and on Saturday, from 9 am to 5 pm.
