We will depart the Visitor Center at 8 am and drive about 1 hour to the privately owned 4,700 acre working cattle ranch west of Melbourne. The highlight of the day will be a swamp buggy ride which takes us through the cattle ranch before entering the “wilderness” area. Forever Florida has the largest herd of Cracker cattle and horses in Florida and lots of wildlife. After the tour we will have a barbecue lunch at their restaurant. After lunch we will travel a short distance to the Three Lakes Management Area for a rare look at whooping cranes. We will return to the Refuge by 5 pm.
The Refuge will provide transportation for the first 20 that sign up.
Cost is $36 per person.
